  14. Can somebody tell me what's the maximum length of
  15. the IDE interface cable on a A1200.

  17. I seem to have problems with it, after installing a
  18. quad-speed Gold-Star (type GCDR542B) my A1200
  19. will stop booting now and then.

  21. After pressing the three magic keys, the system
  22. will boot right into workbench.

  24. I'm currently using the unregistered version of atapi.device
  25. of the atapi archive on Aminet.

  27. When reading from CD-ROM, I sometimes 
  28. get read errors and from this moment on my machine 
  29. seems to block for a period of time (10 seconds) whereafter
  30. I can continue working to block again and again and again.

  32. I tried the tool setatapispeed with a speed of 2 and it
  33. seems that less read errors occured, but this is only
  34. a feeling.

  36. Furthermore the system refuses to see both harddisk and
  37. CDROM, when switching them on the cable.
  38. A1200-----CDROM----Conner420      works quite nicely
  39. A1200-----Conner---CDROM          system boots till bootpic and
  40.                 no harddisk available.

  44. A1200-MBX 12030XA 50/25/8 HD420 Goldstar-CDROM
  45. all powered by a (please forgive me) PC powersupply.
